Shield Argent, on dexter chief a church tower Azure with port and windows Argent, on sinister chief an embattled tower Gules charged with an inescutcheon Argent charged with a fess Azure, on base a lower demi-cogwheel Sable.
Meaning:
On 1 February 1974 Wernberg Market Town merged with Oberköblitz Municipality. The embattled tower is a simplified version of the former town arms of Wernberg. It is a representation of the belfry of the local castle. The inescutcheon displays the family arms of the Margraves of Leuchtenberg, who granted the arms of Wernberg in 1560. The church tower is a representation of the parish church of Oberköblitz, dedicated to St. Emmeram, with its distinctive three-level tower. The cogwheel is symbolising industries, especially the production of glass. Church tower and cogwheel are taken from the former municipal arms of Oberköblitz, which were approved in 1968.
