Werneck Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, issuant from base three piles Argent, on the piles a lion passant Or, armed Argent, crowned and tongued Azure, chief Argent a fess Gules parted by three pales arched Or.
Meaning:
The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Schönborn. Friedrich Karl of Schönborn, Bishop of Würzburg mandated Balthasar Neumann to build his residence in Werneck. The Franconian rake in base is representing the Bishopric of Würzburg in general. The chief displays the arms of the Barons of Thüngen, manorial lords in the villages of Schleerieth, Schraudenbach and Stettbach.
