Shield Or, a bear rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The arms are the family arms of the Lords of Bernstadt, extincted in 1511. The bear is canting. The teeth of the bear are white, though blazon says "armed Gules" (= red).

The arms were adopted in 1931 by the municipality. The banner was approved on 15 January 1982 by the county administration, published in GABl 559/1983.
