German fire brigades are run by cities and municipalities as professional squads (Berufsfeuerwehr) in bigger cities and municipalities. There are also voluntary fire brigades (Freiwillige Feuerwehr). Many minor entities only have those voluntaries. The voluntary brigades are organized as associations, supported by the public, as fire protection wing within the framework of German civil protection.
Usually the fire brigade stations are hoisting the city or municipal flag, on flag days together with the German federal flag and the civil flag of the state. Proper flags are very rare, e.g. Aurich Fire Brigade has a proper flag. There exist however many ceremonial banners for the use inside, e.g. on occasion of award ceremonies and other festivals.

Some fire brigades use the common flag, usually a red banner, divided three white vertical stripes with a thin black bannerhead, having the inscription "FEUERWEHR" in white capitals. Beneath the banner head shifted to the top is a logo, a white disc fimbriated black and divided into quarters, all displaying black firefighters with helmets on duty. The upper left quarter displays a firefighter extincting fire, the upper right quarter a firefighter holding a load hook, the lower left quarter a firefighter canoeing, and the lower right quarter a firefighter transporting a person injured. (see attached flag above)

It is the same like the common flag, but in the centre of the logo is the coat of arms of Lower Saxony. The Lower Saxon version often has no bannerhead.

It is black-yellow vertical bicolour, the flag colours of Baden-Württemberg with black bannerhead. In the banner head is a logo, displaying a turbulent flame, mainly red, superimposed by the Baden-Württemberg lesser armsBaden-Württemberg lesser arms. The arms are crowned by a black helmet over two black axes in saltire.

Deutscher Feuerwehr Verband (DFV) is the firefighters' professional association (German: Fachverband). Details in German see here. The association uses mainly a banner. The banner is a red-blue-red vertical triband. The blue stripe has double width. Within the blue stripe and shifted to the top is the DFV logo. The logo displays a stylised dark blue firefighter helmet with yellow plume and visor. Beneath the helmet's peak is a red rectangle fimbriated yellow with a yellow inscription in bend "DFV".

The Fire Fighter Youth is a subdivision of the DFV and has thus nearly the same flag, but with a slightly different logo. It is the DFV logo with an additional red flame on top of the logo, all over a yellow annulet with black inscription "DEUTSCHE JUGENDFEUERWEHR". The image displays the triangular pennant of the organisation, blue with red edges and the logo shifted to the hoist.

It is a white triangular pennant with blue edges (colours of Bavaria) and a logo shifted to the hoist, on a yellow basement with black inscription "BAYERN" stands a white firefighter with a red flame, all superimposing the contours of Bavaria adumbrated black and filled lozengy of blue and white. On top of the logo is an embowed black inscription "JUGENDFEUERWEHR".

The flag is not related to the station and probably a mere promotion flag for any fire brigade.
Source: I spotted this flag in May 2009 at Aurich Fire Station.
