Hans Peter Wegener present flag
Hans Peter Wegener. A coastal shipping family concern probably starting
with the "Wega" in 1966 and known these days as Reederei H.-P. Wegener.
Their original funnel shows a flag on it so presumably, if there was one,
it was red with a broad white horizontal band bearing a blue "W" (see below),
which later, again presumably, became that horizontal biband provided by
Jarig from Brown 1995.
However, fact shows that the current flag is a in fact an unequal horizontal
biband of white, taking most of the field, and blue with the dividing line
being wavy [four ups and 3 downs] with the white bearing a large uneven
sized red "W" outlined black which is touching the blue. The outlining
of the letter is unusual but the whole design is best seen by the table
flag on Josef Nüsse's site to
confirm the waves although their site
displays a large flapping flag on opening as well as a photo showing a
flapping flag on their gallery. They also show a flapping flag logo which
has a light blue base rather than the darker one shown by the actual flags
but whether this has a significance concerning the ships is unclear as
there have been no signs of a flag being flown by these but the panel appearing
on their funnel is the same design but with a light blue and normally one
would expect the two to be the same.
