According to
this document, on the first page outside of the index, the flag of the
Parish (or Municipality) of Guanando, probably adopted in 2019, is a bi-color of
blue and white. According to the document, sky blue represents the sharpness and
depth of the beautiful sky which covers the parish, and also represents the
transparency of the waters of the River Chambo, which borders the parish and
refreshes and fertilizes its lands. White symbolizes the richness of
tranquility, peace, and clarity, which covers the entire valley of Santiago de
Guanando.

Adopted on the 1st of May, 1974, the document here on pages 122 and 123
describes the former flag of Guanando. It was a tri-band of blue, yellow, and
green, with 5 stars going diagonally from the left to the right of the flag.
Blue represents the sharpness and depth of the beautiful sky which covers the
parish, and also represents the transparency of the waters of the River Chambo,
which borders the parish and refreshes and fertilizes its lands. Yellow
represents the richness of the soil and the harvests of crops in the summer when
the parish is bathed in luminous rays of sun. Green represents or symbolizes the
beauty of the fields, and due to the industriousness of its children and the
blessing of nature, all of its lands are cultivated and productive. The stars
reflect the purity of spirit and heart of its inhabitants, who, united, stand
and make the sovereignty of their parish, and is projected united with the 5
stars for the communities which existed at the time of obtaining parish status:
San José de Chazo, Santa Fe de Galán, Cahuaji Alto, Cahuaji Bajo and Guso de
Guanando.
