The municipality of Paján (37,073 inhabitants in 2010; 10,882 ha) forms the
south-eastern corner of Manabí province. The municipality is made of the urban
parishes of Paján and of the rural parishes of Guale, Campozano, Cascol and
Lascano.

The flag of Paján is horizontally divided celestial blue-white-celestial
blue-white-celestial blue with a row of five red stars in the central blue
stripe.
Celestial blue represents the heavens that cover the village and the whole
country.
White means the purity and nobleness of the inhabitants.
The stars represent the five parishes composing the municipality.
