According to <www.mipasaje.com>,
Marcabeli flag is a 1:2
horizontal green-yellow-green with yellow triangle at hoist. The
central stripe is charged with light-blue 5-points star.
Dov Gutterman, 14 September 2007
The website shows a very long flag: 1:2 triband of a dark
green over white with in the centre a dark blue star, and in the
hoist a slightly obtuse hoist triangle of a light yellow.
However, in this case we do have the description which translates
roughly to: "The shape is rectangular with three equal
horizontal stripes, the first and third being green and the
middle white, a sky-blue star near the triangle ... . An
equilateral yellow triangle with one corner in the middle of the
white stripe and one third up the flag."
Note that the description does give an indication of the length
of the flag, and it actually really is a very long flag: 3:8
triband of green over white with in the centre a sky-blue star,
and in the hoist an equilateral yellow hoist triangle.

The canton of Marcabeli was formed on 6 May 1986. The place is
said to have been named after three mules carrying loads of
timber and bearing the marks B L I ("marca B L I").
Translated from <www.mipasaje.com>:
"The flag is of rectangular shape, with three equal
horizontal stripes, the first and the third being green and the
median white, with a celeste star placed in the triangle,
representing the parish of El Ingenio. A yellow equilateral
triangle, pointing to the middle of the white stripe and reaching
one third of the flag.
Green reveals the fertility of the fields, with a representative
landscape, full of life and enlightenment, inducing the
inhabitants to struggle with faith and hope for a better future
in a fair and perseverant society.
White means peace and solidarity characterizing the inhabitants,
who keep their ideal and and beautiful spirit to push our society
on ways of loyalty and good reasons of progress and prosperity.
Yellow constitutes the soil resources, with its agricultural and
mining production and the goodness of the climate, ensuring
prosperity of the region and converting it into a Pole of
National Development. Celeste represents the diaphan sky above
us, united with the earth in its wide horizon, the most
incommensurable trace of the aspirations of the people.
The star represents the earliest parish of the canton, El
Ingenio, where the political power is located and which is a
significant contribution to the progress of this sector of the
South Ecuadorian border."
The municipal coat of arms has the shield flanked by two
municipal flags.
