The flag of Vinces is composed of three horizontal stripes of equal size,
green, yellow, and green.
Green is a symbol of the great plant resources
found in the canton in the hills and plains grown with different crops used to
feed people. A huge diversity of products adds value to this beautiful tropical
land, which was converted into an example for the progress of Ecuadorian
villages by the valor and perseverance of its inhabitants.
Yellow represents
the sunlight always lightning the soil; it represents also the sweet rice
panicles grown on the immense savannas. It is also a symbol of the state of
maturation of fruits, which are a reward and an immediate solution to hunger of
the working man.

The coat of arms of Vinces is divided into three parts.
The upper part
consists in a helmet, representing the armor used by the Spanish conquerors,
especially Father Weinza, founder of the canton.
The shield, divided into
four equal parts, each of them symbolically representing the local economy and
resources:
- the first quarter shows a pasture grazed by a pure-bred bovine;-
the second quarter shows a white castle representing the town, surrounded on top
by two stars representing the rural parishes of Palenque and Antonio Sotomayor.
- the third quarter shows the beautiful course of river Vinces, whose bank are the sites of the settlement and which is a means of
transport for people and crop products.
- the fourth quarter shows a wide
range of crops, such as cacao, banana, fruits and rice.
The
lower part consists in a green-yellow-green flag, the canton's official flag,
inscribed "Cantón Vinces".
