Presentation of Diego del Carpio

The municipality of Diego del Carpio (192 inhabitants in 2009; 3,381 ha) is located in the west of Ávila Province, 70 km of Ávila. The municipality is made of the villages of Diego Álvaro and Carpio Medianero.

Symbols of Diego del Carpio

The flag and arms of Diego del Carpio are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 31 July 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed on 2 August 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 20 August 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 161, p. 12,574 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 1:2, tierced at hoist. Red at hoist with three golden crowns and white at fly. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Shield in Spanish shape. Gules a Roman temple of two bare columns with base, capital and triangular roof squamed or, including a quartered shield of the Gothic kings, "1. Or four fesses sable, 2. Gules three crowns or 2 + 1, 3. Argent a lion rampant gules crowned or holding an axe of the same, 4. Or a lion rampant gules surrounded by two swords argent hilted or". The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.
