Presentation of Navatejares

The municipality of Navatejares (55 inhabitants in 2018 vs. 599 in 1940; 1,108 ha) is located 80 km south-west of Ávila, 70 km south of Alba de Tormes, and 30 km south-west of Piedrahíta.

Symbols of Navatejares

The flag and arms of Navatejares are prescribed by an Agreement adopted on 24 May 2018 by the Municipal Council, signed on 16 April 2019 by the Mayor and published on 15 May 2019 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 91, p. 24,050 (text).
The symbols, which are supported by a memoir redacted by Andrés J. Nicolás-Minué Sánchez and were approved by the Chronicler of Arms of Castilla y León, are described as follows:

Flag: Panel in proportions 1:1; width to length, horizontally divided into two rectangles, the rectangle in the upper part, crimson red, and the rectangle in the lower part, white. In the flag's center is set the municipal coat of arms/ The width of the shield is 2/3 of the flag's width. (Panel's proportions according to Article 13 of Decree No. 105 issued in 9 May 1991 by the Government of Castilla y León).
Coat of arms: Spanish shield, oblong with rounde-off base. Per fess, 1. The arms of the Ducal house of Alba de Tormes, 2. Or a bend azure (blue) cantoned by a cow gules (red) and a mount proper.
