The municipality of Villar de Rena (1,379 inhabitants in 2109; 8,280 ha) is located 130 km east of Badajoz and 15 km north of Villanueva de la Serena. The municipality is composed of the town of Villar de Rena and of the submunicipal entities of Palazuelo (496 inh.) and Puebla de Alcollarín (420 inh.).

The flag and arms of Villar de Rena, adopted on 29 November 1990 and 5 March 1992 by the Municipal Council and validated on 4 July 1991 and 31 March 1992 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 4 april 1992 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 16 April 1992 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 30, p. 634 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Divided in three equal horizontal stripes, the upper, yellow, the central, black, and the lower, green.
Coat of arms: Gules a bridge or masoned sable defended by two towers of the same standing over waves argent and azure. A bordure or three roundels gules in chief five wedges azure in the flanks and base. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The flag in actual use (photo, photo, photo, photo) is charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.

Palazuelo is located 10 km north-east of Villar de Rena.
The flag and arms of Palazuelo, adopted on 11 September 2002 by the Village Council and validated on 6 February 2003 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 12 February 2003 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 25 February 2003 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 24, pp. 2,522-2,534 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Tierced on top, blue at hoist and green at fly in proportions [?]. Charged in the center with the coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a small palace argent port and windows azure over furrows argent and vert; 2. Azure four waves argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The first quarter makes the arms canting, featuring a palacete (small palace). The other quarters recall the origin of the village as an agricultural colony part of Plan Badajoz.

Puebla de Alcollarín is located 5 km north of Villar de Rena.
The flag (photo) and arms of Puebla de Alcollarín, adopted on 21 July 1999 by the Village Council and validated on 31 May 2001 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 9 July 2001 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 24 July 2001 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 85, p. 8,199-8,200 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. White with a red triangle along the hoist. [Charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colors].
Coat of arms: Gules two rows of houses [argent] in fess port and windows sable over waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
