The flag and arms of Cantabrana (Escudos y Banderas de la Provincia de Burgos website) are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 17 May 2004 by the Municipal Council and published on 14 October 2004 in the official gazette of Province of Burgos.
The flag is rectangular, in proportions 2:3, white with a red triangle
placed along the hoist, all over an Y-shaped blue figure (representing
the rivers and brooks that have their confluence in Cantabrana) with
its ends in the angles of the hoist and in the middle of the fly, of
height 1/5 of the flag's hoist. Over the red triangle is placed the
municipal coat of arms, of height 40% of the flag's hoist.
The colours of the flag are those of the coat of arms.
The coat of arms of Cantabrana is "Per fess, 1. Argent a loom gules, 2. Azure two mounts ensigned with a pick and a hammer crossed per saltire all
argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown".
The first quarter symbolizes textile industry, once significant in
Cantabrana. The second quarter recalls the stone quarries; the two
mounts delimit the valley where Cantabrana is located.
