The municipality of Casas de Don Gómez (303 inhabitants in 2017; 3,116 ha; municipal website) is located 80 km north-west of Cáceres.
Casas de Don Gómez emerged in the lower Middle Ages, being incorporated to the Council of Coria in the 13th century. In the 15th century, Henry IV granted the place to Gómez, knight of the Order of Alcántara and allowed him to rename it Lugar de las Casas de Don Gómez (Place of Gomez' Houses).

The flag and arms of Casas de Don Gómez, adopted on 30 September 1993 by the Municipal Council and validated on 21 January 1994 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 2 March 1994 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 12 March 1994 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 29, pp. 786-787 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Made of a three equal vertical stripes, yellow at hoist, white with the coat of arms in the center, and green at fly.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a tower vert charged with a sword sable, 2. Argent a Cross of the Order of Alcántara. Grafted in base, Vert a "posito" argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
