Presentation of Riolobos

The municipality of Riolobos (1,248 inhabitants in 2018; 4,949 ha) is located 70 km north of Cáceres and 30 km south-east of Coria.

Flag of Riolobos

The flag and rehabilitated arms of Riolobos, adopted on 13 July 1992, 13 September and 26 October 1993 by the Municipal Council and validated on 23 March and 22 September 1993 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 23 November 1993 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 2 December 1993 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 140, pp. 3,177-3,178 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Composed of three horizontal stripes, the outer, white, and the central, wavy blue, in proportions 3/8 and 1/4, with the municipal coat of arms in the central stripe.
Coat of arms: Argent a fess wavy azure surrounded by two wolves passant sable in chief and in base. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The coat of arms forms a rebus of the place's name, lit. Wolves' River.
