Ivan Sache, 25 April 2021
The flag and arms of Fuertescusa are prescribed by Order No. 47 issued on 30 March 2021 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 9 April 2021 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 67, p. 14,313 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular in proportions 2:3, composed of a green panel charged with a blue triangle with vertices at the hoist's ends and at the fly's midpoint, itself charged with a white triangle with vertices at the hoist's ends and the flag's center. The latter charged with the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Or an arched opening azure charged with a mount argent ensigned by a pine proper in base a wall or masoned sable with two water pipes argent pouring water azure on waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted by a royal crown cross.
The arched opening refers to the three road tunnels, known as the Hell's Gate (photo), which allow road access to the village. The local landscape is represented by the mount and pine. The water pipes highlights the extensive water resources of Fuertescusa, which is said to have some 100 fountains.
