The municipality of Valdesotos (23 inhabitants in 2014, 2,730 ha) is
located in the north-west of the Province of Guadalajara.
Valdesotos was resettled in the 11th century, following the Christian
reconquest. The village was incorporated to the Community of the Town
and Land of Uceda, ruled by the Archbishop of Toledo until the 16th century.

The flag and arms of Valdesotos are prescribed by an Order issued on 13
May 2015 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 26 May
2015 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 101, p. 16,641 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel, in proportions 2:3, green, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1a. Gules a castle or masoned sable port and windows azure (Castile), 1b. Azure semé with fleurs-de-lis or inescutcheon barruly of six or and azure a bordure gules (Cistercian Order), 2. Argent a three-arched bridge proper masoned sable on two rocks proper and waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown.
