The coat of arms of Onzonilla is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 25
April 1990 by the Municipal Council, signed on 9 August 1991 by the Director General of the Territorial Administration and published on 24
September 1991 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 183, p. 3,185 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1a. Argent a lion purpure crowned or, 1b. Gules six bezants or in two pales, 2. Or an oak proper fructed or over waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown.
The first quarter sof the coat of arms shows the arms of León, to which Onzonilla always belonged; the six bezants in the second quarter represent the six villages merged with Onzonilla; the lower field recalls the etymology of the name of Onzonilla - a fountain and a small oak.
