The municipality of Ulea (912 inhabitants in 2014; 4,000 ha) is located in the center of the Region of Murcia, 30 km of Murcia.

The flag of Ulea (photo, photo, photo), approved on 27 March 1985 by the Municipal Council,
is prescribed by Decree No. 26, adopted on 7 March 1986 by the
Government of the Region of Murcia and published on 19 March 1986 in
the official gazette of the Region of Murcia, No. 65, p. 1,091 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Horizontally tierced. The upper stripe yellow, the central stripe white and the lower stripe celestial blue, the central stripe twice wider than any of the two other stripes. The central stripe charged with the coat of arms of the town, "Argent a Cross of St. James gules. A bordure gules eight flowers of orange trees argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed".
Yellow is a symbol of lemon, a main source of income for Ulea.
Blue represents river Segura, whose water irrigates the plantations.
White is the colour of the Order of St. James, once owner of Ulea.

The Royal Academy of History validated the proposed flag.
