Fornelos de Montes is made of seven parishes, the main of them being San Lourenzo de Fornelos de Montes, which explains the use of St. Lawrence's grill and palm on the arms. The bridge must be the Bustelos (a village located in the Estacas parish) bridge, rebuilt in the Middle Ages on the remains of a Roman bridge.

Ponte de ouro de tres arcos amenado, mazonada e terrasado de azur; en xefe, de gules dous paos de prata e, sobre o todo, unha grella e unha pluma de ouro en aspa. Bordura de prata con lenda de sabre “FORNELOS DE MONTES”. Ó timbre coroa real pechada. Non se coñece expediente de aprobación.
Bridge or comprising three arches, masoned and underlaid azure; in chief, gules two pales argent and, overall, a grill and feather or in saltire. Bordure argent with legend “FORNELOS DE MONTES” sable. Surmounted by closed royal crown. No known instrument of adoption.
