Presentation of Boceguillas

The municipality of Boceguillas (755 inhabitants in 2010; 4,154 ha; municipal website) is located in the northeast of Segovia Province, 60 km from Segovia. The municipality is made of the villages of Boceguillas (capital), Aldeanueva del Campanario and Turrubuelo.

Symbols of Boceguillas

The flag and arms of Boceguillas are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 13 January 1997 by the Segovia Provincial Government, signed on 30 January 1997 by the President of the Government, and published on 11 February 1997 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 28, p. 3,990 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, green with a yellow fess. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Vert a wheel argent in base a table argent three breads of the same, 2. Gules a castle or masoned sable port and windows azure flanked by two keys argent, grafted in base or with the cypher of King Philip II sable ensigned with a Spanish crown of the same. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

The wheel and table must recall that Boceguillas has always been a convenient stopping place, being located halfway of Madrid and Burgos.
The municipal website shows an image of the flag with proportions 2:3 and the yellow stripe narrower than the green stripes.
