The municipality of Torrecilla de la Orden (298 inhabitants in 2009;
5,990 ha) is located in the southwest corner of Valladolid
Province, on the border with the Salamanca and Zamora Provinces, 85 km from Valladolid.
Torrecilla de la Orden was the site of a commandery owned by the Order
(Orden) of St. John of Jerusalem, indeed an outpost located not far
from their headquarters of Fresno el Viejo.

The flag and arms of Torrecilla de la Orden are prescribed by a Decree
adopted on 2 October 2002 by the Municipal Council, signed on 7 October 2002 by the
Mayor, and published on 21 October 2002 in the
official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 204, p. 13,865 (text).
The symbols are described
as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of a blue panel with a white triangle with vertices in upper and lower hoist and mid fly and a red triangle with vertices in upper and lower hoist and the flag's center, charged with a white Cross of St. John of Jerusalem.
Coat of arms: Gules a tower [torre] argent masoned sable port and windows of the same ensigned with a Cross of the Order [orden] of St. John of Jerusalem argent surrounded by two spikes or in base waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
