Presentation of Trefacio

The municipality of Trefacio (202 inhabitants in 2009; 2,567 ha) is located in the northwest of Zamora Province (Sanabria), 110 km from Zamora. The municipality is made of the villages of Trefacio (capital), Cerdino, Murias and Villarino de Sanabria.

Symbols of Trefacio

The flag and arms of Trefacio are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 27 December 2000 by the Municipal Council, signed on 31 January 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 15 February 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 33, p. 2,762 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of a blue diagonal stripe outlined in white, running from the lower hoist to the upper fly, the upper triangle green and the lower triangle red.
Coat of arms: Tierced, 1. Vert, 2. Wavy azure fimbriated argent, 3. Gules. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
