The Spanish Paralympic Committee (Comité Paralímpico Español - CPE; website) was established in 1995 but athletes had been competing in the earlier 1990s.

Special Olympics España

Special Olympics España (fact sheet) was established in 1992.
As of 2019, the program involved 19,498 athletes and unified partners and 2,175 coaches, for the practice of 24 sports.

The flag of Special Olympics España (photo) is white with the program's logo. The former flag (photo) was white with the program's former logo.

Olympic Museum in Barcelona

The Museu Olímpic i de l'Esport "Joan Antoni Samaranch" was inaugurated in 2007 and in June 2010 it was named in honor of Joan Antoni Samaranch, President of the International Olympic Committee between 1980 and 2001.
Several flags are featured outside the main entrance of the museum.
