Veuve [Widow] Christiaens & Bourgain Frères [Brothers] was a
shipping company based in Boulogne-sur-Mer, involved in the transport
of salted food, fresh fish, salt and coal.
The widow Christiaens could be Marie-Louise Christiaens (1858-1942),
widow of Benoît Christiaens (1865-1895); she was née Bourgain,
therefore the Bourgain brothers could have been her own brothers.

Christiaens & Bourguin's house flag is shown in Olson's Fisherman's Nautical
Almanack (1914) as white with the black letters "CB" in the middle.
The Yearbook of
the Central Committee of France Shipowners (1922) shows a totally
different house flag, blue with two rows of three white stars each.
