The National Assembly for Wales (Welsh: Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru);
commonly known as the Welsh Assembly or Senedd (Welsh for Senate, but
no institution but the building) is the devolved parliament of Wales, having
power to make legislation, vary taxes and control the Welsh Government. It was
established by the Government of Wales Act 1998, following a referendum in 1997.
The flag is white, showing a stylized Welsh dragon regardant Gules, reduced to
its head and wings, filling the whole sheet.

September 2014 in Cardiff on the square in front of the assembly.

The flag is red, showing a stylized Welsh dragon passant Gules, bordered by
white lines. Beneath the dragon is a horizontal white line, beneath the line is
the name of the government in Welsh (Llywodraeth Cymru) over the name
in English (Welsh Government), all in white letters.
