Description of the flag

A newcomer among the University of Cambridge colleges is Robinson College: http://www.robinson.cam.ac.uk/about/.
“Robinson is the newest college in the University of Cambridge. It was founded with a donation by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir David Robinson and formally opened in 1981. It now has 80 Fellows, and around 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.”

The arms show a golden Pegasus rampant langued gules, gorged with a crown gules, on a field of azure, in base barry wavy of silver (four pieces). Large image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Robinson_College_Crest.svg.

The crown resembles an Eastern or antique one but in this case every other ray is not straight but wavy – surely there is a proper name for it? In any case a flag (banner of arms) appears on the college’s website: http://www.robinson.cam.ac.uk/contact/emails.php. Here, the wavy stripes are placed somewhat higher than they are on the arms, now filling up the entire lower half.
