The special ensign for the Wharncliffe Sailing Club was simply a white flag (1:2), with a Union Jack in the first quarter; no overall cross. The burgee was a plain white pennant.
The Admiralty warrant for the plain white ensign was withdrawn in 1842. Lord
Yarborough (the founder of WSC) joined and became active in the Royal Yacht
Squadron shortly before his death in 1845, and the WSC vanished.
