The current flag of PCG was adopted in 1998, with the following symbolics:
Red represents the workers.
Green is the traditional colour of Guadeloupe.
Letter G represents the initial of Guadeloupe but also a stylized hammer and sickle.
The five stars stand for the five islands of the archipelago.

When founded in 1958, PCG used a red flag with a yellow hammer and sickle. The emblem was a mirrored version of the Soviet hammer and sickle.

During its VIIth Congress, PCG used two flags. The first one was a red flag with a yellow hammer and sickle and the second one was a red flag with the map of Guadeloupe shown on a white disk and two thin black stripes near the top and bottom of the flag.

The flag used by PCG is similar to the second flag used during the VIIth Congress; the white disk is suppressed and the yellow hammer and sickle is placed in the upper left corner.
