Presentation of UPLG

UPLG was founded by Claude Makouké in 1978.

Flag of UPLG

The flag of UPLG, as reported by Lucien Philippe, is red with a big yellow star and thin green stripes on the top and bottom of the flag, separated from the red field by a thinner white stripe. The proportions of the flag are 1:2.
The flag is quite similar to the flag of Suriname.

During its Congress in 1984, UPLG proposed to use a slightly modified version of the party flag as the national flag of Guadeloupe. According to Lucien Philippe, the yellow star is twice smaller on the proposed national flag than on the party flag.
