The symbols of Kutjevo are described in the Town Statutes Statut Grada Kutjeva, adopted on 13 July 2009 by the Town Assembly and published on 15 July 2009 in the Town official gazette Službeni glasnik Grada Kutjeva, No. 4, although adopted earlier.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.
The ceremonial flag (photo) is also described in the Statutes, being of the same design as the official flag but bordered with a golden fringe.

The coat of arms is described in the town Statutes as "Azure the Kutjevo castle argent roofed gules and in the base a bunch of grapes with two leaves or".
The drawing shows the castle (photo) with an octagonal tower above the gates and a belfry in dexter. The castle was built by the Jesuits after the liberation from the Turks in 1700 on the ruins of a former Cistercian monastery. The bunch of grapes refers to the famous vineyards and wine cellars.
