The Popular Front of India (PFI) was founded on 22 November 2006 in Calicut
by representatives of three Muslim organizations of southern India, the
Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD, active in Karnataka), the National Development
Front (NDF, active in Kerala) and the Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNT, active in
Tamil Nadu). The PFI has launched in 2009 a political party, the
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
The
flag of the PFI is presented on the organization's website as horizontally
divided "deep green"-"deep red" with a white triangle placed along the hoist and
charged with a blue star. White represents peace, "deep green" represents nature
and prosperity, "deep red" represents struggle and sacrifice, while the blue
star represents freedom.

The image gallery of
the party's website shows several photos with the flag, which appears as dark
green but not particularly dark red. The size of the star seems to vary from
flag to flag

There is also a version of the flag without the star. This flag seems to
have been used by the components of the PFI, at least the KFD and the MNT,
before the foundation of the PFI.
