The city emblem was adopted on Jul 1st 2005 by Notice No 52 but
there is no flag law.
The white flag has a green, a blue and a red three color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized G of Goshogawara.
The green color stands for gifts from the land, the blue color for Japan Sea, Lake Jyusan
and River Iwaki and the red color for apples and the sun.
It represents an image of the city which vividly makes a leap forward to the future
with an abundant nature in a background.
