The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Nov 1st 2004 by Notice No 1.
The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a stylized hiragana み Mi of Misato.
It represents hopes, a surge and a friendship.
The flag proportion is 2: 3.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 25 September 2014
Nozomi Kariyasu on 25 September 2014, mentioned there is a flag law
regarding the town. However, the correction that I need to make is the
law lists the flag as 7x10 (the spec sheet, very crudely scanned if I
may add, shows a flag at 1400x2000 in size). However, I did manage to
find [the]
Design Manual of the Town and it confirms the information in the
flag law with clearer drawings. The emblem is white on a blue
background, defined as DIC 183. The emblem is not centered on the flag
but placed higher up towards the top and further towards the fly end
than the hoist.
