The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Feb 1st 2006 by Notice No 3. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 山 San and 小 O which symbolizes a concord of the globe and the people. It represents an image of the city which is livable, spiritual-rich, pleasant,vigorous and lives in good harmony with nature and also a surge to the future, a stability and a feeling of unity of the citizen. The flag proportion is 2:3.

Onoda City / 小野田市

The flag of former city of Onoda was maroon with mark. The city is now, from 2005, part of the city of Sanyo-Onoda.
