The city emblem was adopted on Aug 3rd 2005 by Notice No 156 but there is
no flag law.
The white flag has a blue and a red two color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized BO of Bungo Ono.
The center red circle symbolizes the sun and shining hope of the healthy
and cultural city, the blue color does the stream of River Ono and the peoples
concord of a collaboration and a co-creation.
It represents an image of the city which inherits an abundant nature and the
culture to the future to further develop.
