The Flag

The flag of Minamisatsuma city is white with symbol. The city was founded on 2005 by merger of city of Kaseda and towns of Kinpo, Bonotsu, Kasasa and Oura.

The city emblem was adopted on Nov 7th 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a light blue and a red three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is stylized M and S of MinamiSatsuma. It depicts a coast line of Fukiagehama and a beautiful city with the sea and the mountains. The strong waves symbolize a harmony with natural life and the people’s energy.
