Located in Seki City Gifu Prefecture and established in 2006. The embroidered ceremonial flag has purple-blue background with a gold emblem and vertically written in gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The university flag has navy blue background with a white and navy blue emblem and horizontally written the university name in white and Chinese character. (Source) The emblem of Gifu University of Medical Science was designed in the image of the emblem of its predecessor, Gifu College of Medical Technology, and expresses the "tradition" that will be inherited even after the transition to a four-year university. The initials "GUMS" of the university name in English, "Gifu University of Medical Science," are designed in the style of an emblem, and the laurel tree surrounding the emblem, which has been considered a noble tree since ancient times, means "glory" here. It is a brand mark of the university that evokes tradition and intelligence.
