The Kushiro polemoniaceae, also known as the "Lady of the Marsh," is found in the wetlands of eastern Hokkaido, and as its name suggests, it has a noble and dignified demeanor that best describes the students who study at this university.
The five petals on the school emblem, like the number of national and provincial roads starting from Kushiro, represent students gathering from all directions and leaping forward in all directions. The kanji word "大學" appears calmly above the graceful blue petals.
