Symbolism

From: http://www.tanyang-gun.chungbuk.kr/english/profile/symbols.html

The background color of the flag is green, which symbolizes warmhearted love and the peaceful and hopeful aspirations of the county. The symbol found on the flag is yellow and represents underground resources such as gold. Both symbols on the flag mean "Dan", the initial letter of Tanyang. The picture represents DoDam SamBong (DoDam = three mounts), which stands for Tanyang, and the crescent figure represents abundant tourist resources, the hopeful crescent shielding three mounts. Tanyang county is abundant in underground resources and the symbol can be compared to mines dug with a fork cranes, meaning the developing image of Tanyang county.
