Croatian Civic Initiative (in Croat, Hrvatska gradjanska inicijativa, website), is the political party of the Croat minority in Montenegro. It was founded in 2003 in Tivat and its headquarter is still there. Since 2009, it has been part of the currently governing coalition in Montenegro.

The party flag (photos), adopted at its Founding Convention on 24 May 2003, is described in its Statutes (text) as follows:
Article 5.As can be seen in the photos (no longer online) from the Founding Convention, the flag and emblem use the same typeface for the inscriptions; contrary to the Statutes, the inscription in the emblem is dark blue. The photos (no longer online) from the 1st Regular Convention, which was held in 2007, show that the inscription in the emblem sometimes uses a more expanded form of the letters than the one used in the flag. A good view of the flag is given in the photos (no longer online) from the party promotion held in Kotor on 8 December 2004.

The party flag is tricolor and consists of: top red, central white and bottom blue fields, in rectangular shape, with dimensions 200 x 100 cm. In the white field is inscribed "HGI" in golden capital letters.
The party emblem is: three squares in red, white and dark blue colors arranged diagonally in relation to the inscription "HGI", which is in light blue color.

A photo gallery (no longer online) titled "Founding of the HGI", with no place or time specified, shows a different flag: a yellow gonfanon, with the map of Montenegro outlined in blue and the position of Tivat marked with a red dot and the white dove of peace in the centre of the map; the inscription "HGI" is above the map, each letter in one of national colors (part of the "H" chequy red and white), and the full name of the party inscribed beneath the map in blue, the first letters of each word repeating the colors from the top inscription (the "H" being all red here). The same flag has also appeared on a photo (no longer online) in the Founding Convention gallery and nowhere else, so its status remains unclear. The tricolor flag with the party name initials was, on the other hand, used during the election campaign in 2009 (photos, no longer online), which confirms it as the official party flag.
