Neede is a municipality in northeast Gelderland, about part of Twente (the eastern region in Overijssel province). It used to be a region where bricks and tiles were baked; many old customs were retained there, like the 'Naoberplichten' (neighbour-duties)

The present flag of Neede was designed by drs. J.F. van Heijningen. It was adopted by municipal resolution on 3 Sep 1991. Description: three equally wide horizontal stripes blue - yellow - blue; the yellow stripe charged with three red disks, divided evenly over the stripe, each with a diameter equal to 4/5 of stripeheight. The flag is a simplification of the municipal arms, in which the gold-blue colors of Münster have been retained.
Formerly Neede had a flag (adopted 30 Nov 1955), consisting of three vertical stripes red - yellow - blue, but this was considered not characteristic for Neede - and it had a strong resemblance to the flags of Romania and Chad.
Since 1 Jan 2005 Neede is part of the new municipality of Berkelland.
