The Centraal Bureau voor de Rijn en Binnenvaart (Central Office for the Rhine
and Inland navigation) is an institution representing the interests of owners
and skippers involved in inland navigation. The society was established in 1929
and the homebase was Rotterdam. On the first flag are not only two proud lions
depicted but also the motto 'Navigare Pergimus' (we sail on). From the beginning
on the intention was to represent Rhine shipping, inland and tanker shipping,
towing services and passenger shipping. Several other societies dealing with the
interests of other skippers joined the CBRB during the years. In April 2022 the
society itself amalgamated with another society representing entrepreneurs in
the inland navigation, the Koninklijke BLN-Schuttevaer to form Koninklijke
Binnenvaart Nederland (Royal Inland Navigation Netherlands). So far, no flag of
this new society was reported.
