Here was flag and CoA of former municipality of Øyestad. On 1992, Øyestad was incorporated into the municipality of Arendal.

Blazon: I sølv en skråstilt blå spiss dannet ved bølgesnitt. In English: Argent a pile issuant from base sinister wavy azure.
Approved by the royal resolution of 19 April 1985 after a drawing by Ulf Skauge. [c2j87]
The design symbolises the Nidelva river that passed though the municipality and widens at the confluence.
