Blazon: I blått et korset sølv kors. In English: Azure a cross crosslet argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 13 December 1985 after a drawing by Alfhild Vekterli and reworked by Einar H. Skjervold. [c2j87]
The municipal web site explains  the cross is a Sami symbol, used in the mythology as a solar symbol with indication of compass points.
