Kochanowice - rural Commune, Lubliniec County, Śląskie Voivodship.
Gmina Kochanowice is a rural gmina (commune) in Lubliniec County, Silesian
Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Kochanowice.
Area: 79.71 sq.km (30.8 sq.mi); Population: 6,668 (2006).
Along the highway from Lubliniec to Częstochowa (Route 46)in the center
of the village there are two chapels standing on opposite sides of the
street. One is dedicated to Saint John Nepomucene (or Nepomuk) and the
other to Saint Florian. The chapels were built by two men feuding with
each other and are identical.
Now, both became the landmarks of the village and are featured in its
Coat of Arms.
Arms and flag adopted on September 5, 2003 (resolution # 65/XI/2003).
"Arms: on the top, gold field three green linden leaves. On the main,
blue part of the shield two chapels and two crossed arrows.
Flag: a rectangle of three equal horizontal bands: green-yellow-blue."
