The Battle of Punitz occurred nearby on 28 October 1704 during the Great Northern War between Saxon and Swedish armies.
Arms and flag adopted on April 22, 2005 (resolution # XXVIII/183/2005).
"Arms: on a red shield and on green grass two silver towers with green
roofs and between them, a six-pointed gold star.
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth in the ratio 5:8 composed of three
vertical bands: green-white-green. The side bands, green, are 1/5 of the
width of the flag each.
On the middle, wide, field the Arms are placed centrally."
The color of the middle band is not given in the law. I assumed it is
white after reading lenghtly protocols of the discussions of the
commune's council sessions.
NB: The 2004 proposals, except the second Coat of Arms, were rejected.
