Belazaima do Chão, Castanheira do Vouga e Agadão is one of the seven communes of Sabugal Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 1415 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 88,1 km².

Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.

Meaning:
The heraldic fountain in the arms, thus canting, stands for the local namesake Agadão River. The bottle is an attribute of St. Mary Magdalen, the local patron saint.
