The arms are Azure gutty Argent , a coronet Or, bordure Or charged with a cord Purpure. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SANTA CLARA - COIMBRA".
Meaning:
The cord, which is red on flag, is an attribute of St. Frances of Assisi. Direct allusions to St. Claire of Assisi cannot be found within the arms. However Frances inaugurated Claire according to the rules of the Benedictine Order in around 1212.
