It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and red.

Shield Gules, in base a mountain issuant Or charged with a bar wavy Azure topped by a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert, in chief two flowers affronty Or ordered per fess. Mural crown Argent with visible four towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ESTREITO DE CÂMARA DE LOBOS".
Meaning:
The flowers are representing the local craftwork, the grapevine is representing viticulture.The mountain is a canting element, refering to a local narrow (Port.: estreito) pass. The bar wavy is representing Levada do Norte and Ribeira dos Socorridos, the eastern border of the commune.

Estreito de Câmara de Lobos Commune is one of the five communes of the Câmara de Lobos municipality (q.v.); it had 10 283 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 8.1 km².
